Regional Focus: Padthaway and Sophie’s Garden

“It is a very strange wine,” says Two Hands proprietor Michael Twelftree, describing Shiraz from this large but often overlooked region. Strange but wonderful, clearly, as the wine receives consistently outstanding reviews from critics and great feedback from consumers. Some 180 miles southeast of Adelaide, Padthaway is a bit far-flung from Two Hands’ home base in the Barossa Valley, but the team makes it down there several times a year and also benefits from a long relationship with trusted growers. In this video, Michael goes in depth about Sophie’s Garden and the unique nature of Padthaway, one of the six regions explored in the Garden Series.
