Among Rising Aussie Cabs, a Sexy Beast Stands Out
Cabernet from Australia? You better believe it, says veteran Wine Spectator Australia watcher Harvey Steiman. “After spending years in the shadow of Shiraz, Australian Cabernet Sauvignon has finally stepped into the spotlight,” Steiman writes in the August 31 issue of the magazine (subscription required). And one of his favorites is Sexy Beast, from Two Hands. Quoting from the article:
“Typical of the best wines from McLaren Vale, a seaside region of gently rolling hills south of Adelaide, the Two Hands Cabernet Sauvignon McLaren Vale Sexy Beast 2012 (93, $30) has generous raspberry and black cherry fruit at its core, revealing just enough herbal nuances to gain depth and presence.”
