The Garden Series is Two Hands’ super-premium range of Shiraz from five of the finest Shiraz growing regions in Australia.
BELLA’S GARDEN, BAROSSA VALLEY A blend of Two Hands’ finest Shiraz barrels from across the Barossa Valley, Australia’s most famous Shiraz region. Using fruit grown in the red soils of the hills, Bella’s is a sumptuous wine, defined by its aromatic complexity and finesse, lingering on the palate with tannins that become softer as they age.
LILY’S GARDEN, McLAREN VALE McLaren Vale is quite varied, but is characterized mainly by its close proximity to the sea—giving it a Mediterranean climate—and its fertile soils. Two Hands harvests grapes from three distinct regions in McLaren Vale and blends together the best barrels from all three to make an extraordinarily complex Lily’s Garden. This is a generous wine with cascading blue fruits and a rich long palate. giving the wine remarkable mouth feel.
MAX’S GARDEN, HEATHCOTE VICTORIA Heathcote is the region farthest afield from Two Hands’ home base, some 400 miles southeast of the Barossa Valley and about an hour north of Melbourne. Although some producers reach for a big, jammy style in Heathcote, Two Hands believes the region is meant to produce wines with an earthy texture with lifted spice and a well delineated fruit profile—wines with an elegant framework that complements the Garden Series for their distinctiveness.
SOPHIE’S GARDEN, PADTHAWAY About three hours south of Adelaide by car, Padthaway is on what is known as the Limestone Coast of South Australia, so named for the bed of limestone that underlies the soils. This and a cool climate yield a focused, fruit-packed style of wine that’s laced with pepper and spice. Amazingly, the cooler climate bouquet moves to richer black fruits on the palate.
SAMANTHA’S GARDEN, CLARE VALLEY Clare stands alone among the other South Australia regions. With its cool nights and relatively cool days, the grapes ripen slowly and the wines tend to be more red-fruit focused. Samantha’s Garden is an elegant wine typical of the region, with bright lively aromas, subtle fruit flavors and fine grained tannins.
